10% Voter Turnout Recorded in Parsa, Polling Peaceful: Election Official
Parsa, Nepal — Around 10% of votes have been cast so far in Parsa district, Chief Election Officer Gayatri Prasad Regmi said on polling day.
Regmi stated that approximately 10% voter turnout has been recorded across four electoral constituencies in the district, according to preliminary figures. Voting began in the morning and will continue until the scheduled closing time.
He said polling has been proceeding peacefully in all constituencies. “So far, no untoward incidents have been reported,” Regmi said.
Election authorities said security personnel have been deployed at all polling stations and necessary logistical arrangements have been put in place. Voters have been lining up at polling centers since early morning to exercise their franchise.
Officials expect turnout to increase later in the day. Weather conditions have remained normal, and no disruptions to voting have been reported.
The total number of registered voters in the district was previously published by election authorities. Final turnout figures will be officially announced after voting concludes.
Vote counting will begin at designated counting centers once polling ends, election officials said.
