Biplav Casts Vote in Rolpa After 18 Years

Kathmandu — Netra Bikram Chand, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), also known as “Biplav,” cast his vote in Rolpa on polling day, marking his first participation in an election in 18 years.

Chand, who had previously boycotted elections, voted at the (A) polling center of Thunikot Bal Shiksha Secondary School in Ward No. 3 of Parivartan Rural Municipality, Rolpa.

His participation comes as his party has decided to contest the current election. Observers see the move as politically significant, signaling a shift from a long-standing boycott of parliamentary processes toward formal electoral participation.

Election officials said voting in Rolpa has been proceeding peacefully.
