Gionee S6s Review
Today we are analyzing Gionee S6s, an Android smartphone manufactured by Gionee. Following its tradition of manufacturing smartphones, Gionee introduced a new mid-ranged smartphone called the Gionee S6s on May, 2016. The Gionee S6s was the successor of the Gionee S6 Pro which was launched on June, 2016.
The Gionee S6s’s body, as of S Series, is made up metal. However, the device receives curves on both sides at the rear part which makes the users to hold the device easily. Moreover, this device’s screen gets protection of gorilla glass. The device receives an earpiece on the top of the screen along with front facing camera, a notification LED light, front facing LED flashlight and different sensors. Moreover, the device receives the capacitive home, recent app and back button below in the screen.
The device features volume alteration keys followed by a power button below it at the right side of its body. The device possesses a 3.5 mm earphone socket a microphone and a micro USB Type-C port at the bottom of the device. Besides, the device features the SIM cards slots and microSD card slot at the left side. The rear end of the device’s body obtains the main facing camera, a LED flashlight, and finger print sensor. The speaker also can be noticed at the rear bottom.
Coming to the display, the Gionee S6s possesses 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and user interface, Amigo UI 3.2. The screen acquires HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels having ~401 ppi pixels density. The display quality of the device, just like its predecessors, is good and the viewing angles are too good. Moreover, the screen provides vibrant colors and the text is sharp and clear. The display is bright and can easily be used in the outdoor.
Besides, the Gionee S6s runs Android v6.0 Marshmallow out of the box but may not receive the update of Android v7.0 Nougat. The device, furthermore, equips Mediatek MT6735 chipset. Besides, the device is packed with Octa-Core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali-T720MP2 GPU. The Gionee S6s is available in 32 GB of internal memory and can be expanded up to 128 GB with the help of a microSD card (SIM 2 slot). Furthermore, the device is furnished with 3 GB of RAM.
Similarly, the device equips 13 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens, autofocus rear camera. The rear camera of the device comes with various features like 1/3″ sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR. Moreover, the device features 8 MP, f/2.2 aperture lens front facing camera. Both rear and front cameras help you to capture good shots. The rear camera also helps to capture HD videos at 1080p. However, the rear camera is not so good as compared to the Samsung’s Galaxy J7.
Additionally, the Gionee S6s is packed with Li-Po 3150 mAh non-removable battery. However, the Gionee S6s lacks fast charging functionality which is visible in devices of Gionee. Speaking on the basis of its capacity, the battery may give nice battery backup. The device is available in latte gold and mocha gold colors.
