Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Snapdragon) Review
Following the trend of throwing new smartphones in the market, Xiaomi launched another version of the Redmi Note 4 (MediaTek) on January, 2017. The device was marketed with the same old name “Redmi Note 4” but had other processors and featured improved camera. And this device too is the successor of the Redmi Note 3. Today we will be reviewing the same device.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 looks a lot like the Redmi Note 4 (MediaTek), and hence, is made up of a metal body. The rear panel also receives a polished finish which helps users to hold the device easily. Further, this device is also protected by 2.5D curved glass. Also, the Redmi Note 4 is slightly thick compared to the Redmi Note 4 (MediaTek).
The Redmi Note 4 features an earpiece at the top followed by front facing camera, sensors. The device also features the capacitive home, recent app and back buttons below the screen. However, the capacitive buttons are not backlit. Nevertheless, we are not sure whether the device features a notification LED light.
The top part comprises 3.5 mm headphone socket, an IR sensor and a secondary microphone. Further, the bottom part carries micro USB port, a primary mic and speaker grille. The device carries main camera at the center, a flashlight and fingerprint sensor on the back. The device acquires volume alteration keys and power keys at the right and hybrid SIM slot at the left side.
Furthermore, the Redmi Note 4 comes with 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen featuring the resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels having ~401 ppi pixels density. The screen also possesses 72% NTSC color gamut. Further, the screen produces saturated, vibrant and accurate color. The display, further, features color temperature adjusting option that allows users to change color according to their wish.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is operated with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and also Xiaomi’s own features MIUI 8.0. The device, besides, is functioned with Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, Octa-Core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, and Adreno 506 GPU processors. Moreover, the device features 32 GB of internal memory and 3 GB of RAM.
The Redmi Note 4 equips 13 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens, phase detection autofocus, dual tone LED flash main facing camera. The rear camera also acquires features like 1.12 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, face/smile detection and panorama. The device, besides, comes with 5 MP, f/2.0 front facing camera. Furthermore, the rear camera is able to shoot videos at 1080p@30fps, and slow motion videos at 720p@120fps.
Moreover, the Redmi Note 4 also is equipped with 4100 mAh non-removable battery. However, the device lacks the fast charging which is visible in the Redmi Note 4 (MediaTek). The device, besides, gives good battery backup as the device can be used for more than a day. Also, the device is available in black, gold and dark gray colors.
