Coolpad Mega 2.5D Review
Chinese companies, nowadays, are being engaged in manufacturing and marketing smartphones that are budget oriented. Following the trend, a Chinese multinational company named Coolpad also started manufacturing low-price smartphones. And today we are reviewing Coolpad Mega 2.5D, an attractive but low price smartphone of Coolpad.
The Coolpad Mega 2.5D, just like many low-price smartphones, is made out of a plastic body. However, the rear panel of the device receives matte metallic finish which makes the device looks premium. Also, we can notice that the device is protected by 2.5D curved glass, which can be noted down as one of the main attraction of the device. Moreover, the plastic back panel and glass are attached in the metal framework.
The Coolpad Mega 2.5D, like other devices, features an earpiece surrounded by sensors at the left and front facing camera at the right on the top bezel. Further, on the bottom bezel, we can see the “Coolpad” branding. Besides, the capacitive touch keys can be found on the screen while opening up any applications.
Moreover, the Coolpad Mega 2.5D features a 3.5 mm earphone socket at the top, similarly, the micro USB port and a primary microphone is placed at the bottom of the device. Further, the device acquires a power key and hybrid SIM cards tray above it on the right. The left hand side of the device, further, features volume alteration keys. The device, on the rear, carries main camera, a secondary microphone above it and a LED flashlight below it. Also, the device includes “Coolpad” branding and speaker at the bottom-rear.
Furthermore, the Coolpad Mega 2.5D, just like to the Coolpad Mega 3 and Coolpad Note 3s comes with 5.5 inches IPS LCD screen, however, the device instead of full HD resolution, features 720 x 1280 pixels HD resolution with ~233 ppi pixel density. Anyway, the screen produces vibrant, accurate as well as saturated colors which seem good to see in a budget smartphone.
The Coolpad Mega 2.5D, besides, runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and features Cool UI 8.0. Further, the device is functioned with Mediatek MT6735P chipset, Quad-Core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, and Mali-T720MP2 GPU. Also, the Mega 2.5D comes with 3 GB of RAM in this normal price level which looks attractive. The device, besides, features 16 GB of RAM which can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card.
Besides, the Coolpad Mega 2.5D is stocked with 8 MP, f/2.2 aperture, autofocus main camera which features Sony’s image sensor. Also, the camera is supported by a single LED flashlight. Further, focusing the trend of ‘selfies’, the device is featured with 8 MP front facing camera. Both rear camera and front facing camera capture good pictures in the sunlight, however, image quality degrades under the lowlight.
Additionally, the Coolpad Mega 2.5D is equipped with Li-Ion 2500 mAh users’ non-removable battery. However, the device is deprived of fast charging functionality which is noticeable in many smartphones and also can be said as the disadvantage. Anyway, the battery of the device is powerful as it gives backup for one whole day with the single charge. Also, the device is available in three colors; gold, white and black.
