Huawei P9 Review

Today we will be reviewing Huawei P9, an Android smartphone manufactured and marketed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, a multinational company that has been serving the world by producing different ranges smartphones in accordance with the capability of their customers. In continuing this process, Huawei released a smartphone named the Huawei P9 on 2016, April along with small sibling the Huawei P9 Lite.

The Huawei P9, unlike its small brother, is thin having 7 mm body and has got metal uni-body. However, its small brother possesses plastic rear and metal sides. The device also has got the protection of corning gorilla glass from the front which lacks in the Huawei P9 Lite. The device looks identical as other smartphones manufactured by the Huawei. An earpiece, front facing camera, and different sensors followed by a notification LED lamp is easily visible on the top. Moreover, the device’s home, recent app and back button are attached in the screen.

Besides, the volume alteration keys and a power button can be noticed at the right side of device’s body. Similarly, the SIM cards slot and microSD card slot can be seen at the left side of the device. At the top of its body we can notice an active noise cancellation mic. Furthermore, the device packs up a 3.5 mm headphone port, a microphone, followed by micro USB Type-C port and a speaker grille at the bottom of it’s body.  The device features dual lens main facing camera, dual LED flashlight and other things can be noticed at the rear part followed by a fingerprint sensor below it.

Furthermore, the Huawei P9 equips up 5.2 inches IPS-NEO LCD capacitive touchscreen and its own user interface, Emotion UI v4.0. The screen is of 1080 x 1920 pixels HD resolution having ~423 ppi pixels density. The screen quality of the device is good and is contrast. Moreover, the colors are vibrant and the text is sharp and clear and the viewing angles are also good. The device also has screen setting which allows users to manually choose the screen colors. The device can be used at outdoors with any problem because of its bright screen.

Also, the Huawei P9 packs up Android v6.0 Marshmallow and is upgradable to Android 7.0 Nougat. The device features HiSilicon Kirin 955 chipset and Octa-Core (4 x 2.5 GHz Cortex-A72 and 4 x 1.8 Cortex-A53) CPU. The device possesses Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. Besides, the Huawei P9 also is available in 32 GB of internal memory and 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory and 4 GB of RAM. The device, furthermore, has a microSD card slot which allows users to expand memory up to 128 GB with the help of a microSD card (SIM 2 slot).

In addition, we can observe that the Huawei P9 comes with dual 12 MP, Leica Optics, f/2.0 aperture lens, 27 mm, OIS, phase detection and laser autofocus, dual-tone LED flashlight rear camera. The rear camera comes with various features like 1/2.5 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama, HDR. However, the camera doesn’t support Auto HDR mode, which can be pointed out as a disadvantage. Moreover, the device carries up 8 MP, f/2.4 aperture lens front facing camera which is able to capture good self-portraits. The rear camera is capable of capturing videos at 1080p@60fps, 1080p@30fps and 720p@120fps. The front camera also shoots video at 1080p. However, the camera of ZTE Axon Elite is quite better than that of Huawei P9.

Additionally, the Huawei P9 equips Li-Ion 4000 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery. Moreover, the Huawei P9 supports fast charging functionality which charges the battery from 0% to 44% just in 30 minutes. However, its small sibling is deprived of fast charging. The battery, besides, is perfect and gives nice battery backup. The device is available in ceramic white, haze gold, titanium gray, prestige gold, blue and red colors.
